Verdi: Rigoletto wins BraVo Classical Album of the Year

Russia’s BraVo International Professional Music Awards announced Dmitri Hvorostovsky‘s Verdi: Rigoletto recording as the 2018 Classical Album of the Year.

Conducted by Dima’s long-time artistic collaborator, Constantine Orbellian, the album marked Dmitri’s first full recording of Verdi’s Rigoletto and final album. It also features Francesco Demuro (Duke of Mantua), Nadine Sierra (Gilda), Andrea Mastroni (Sparafucile), Oksana Volkova (Maddalena), the Kaunas State Choir, and the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra.

Dmitri’s parents, Alexander Stepanovich and Lyudmila Petrovna, collected the award in his honor.
