This month finds Dmitri Hvorostovsky back in Germany where the Siberian baritone will give a quartet of concerts in four of the country’s great musical capitals.
Joined by longtime musical partner Constantine Orbelian, Dmitri headlines a program that highlights his latest studio album, Songs of War, Peace, Love and Sorrow. Arias from the album represented onstage include Tomsky’s ballad from The Queen of Spades, the title character’s romance from The Demon, the cavatina from Aleko, and selections from Prince Igor and Khovanshchina. In the second half of the program, Dmitri revisits favorite moments from Rossini and Verdi, with arias from Guglielmo Tell, Il trovatore, Un ballo in maschera, Don Carlo, and Rigoletto.
Performances take place October 16 at the Frankfurt Alte Oper, October 20 at the Liederhalle Stuttgart, October 24 at the Berlin Philharmonie, and October 29 at Munich’s Gasteig.
